How Will It Benefit Me?

 

Martial Arts in general are somewhat universal in teaching that there are more benefits to be gained in training than simply self defense. Jujitsu certainly offers more benefits than simply learning how to defend oneself.

Personally I think students will benefit in various personal ways especially in these three areas: Physical, Mental and Emotional.

Physically, students will usually begin to get into better shape simply by training in Jujitsu on a regular basis. Most students notice an increase in cardio endurance, increased strength, increased flexibility, weight loss and decreased body fat percentage.

Mentally, students will usually begin to notice quickened sensory skills, increased focus, mental endurance, self confidence, efficiency, and lowered mental stress.

Emotionally, students usually begin to experience less fear of harm as their self defense skills increase, lowered negative emotional response toward confrontational situations, stress relief, more positive emotional feelings about self and better control of ones emotions.

Of course the benefits of Jujitsu vary from student to student since we are all very unique individuals with different motivations, experiences, goals, strengths, weaknesses and personalities. Many students will speak of a variety of benefits they have gained personally and this may be similar or different from the benefits that you may experience.

One of the great things about Jujitsu is that is has so many different aspects that challenge and benefit us that it lends itself to benefit everyone in some way. Whether you are a child or adult, man or woman, looking for self defense or sport, fitness, stress relief or many other things, we think Jujitsu will benefit you.
