How We Train

We train to create effective Jujitsu practitioners. This will include physical, mental and emotional training. A typical class will include these 3 aspects:

  • Warm up- this part of the class is geared to build endurance, overall better physical shape, strength, flexibility and conditioning.

  • Technique/Kata- this part of the class is geared to teach proper and effective techniques without resistance.

  • Rolling/Randori- this part of the class allows students to practice applying techniques while their opponent is resisting.

Self defense and sport versions of Jujitsu will be taught by instructors. The difference in sport vs. self defense philosophy and techniques will also be explained.

Drills or segmented aspects of Jujitsu will be used to focus on specific aspects of self defense or the sport game.

Complete Jiu Jitsu utilizes the best training methods available many of which have been designed by martial artists throughout history, personal trainers and coaches of various sports, military and law enforcement.

Complete Jiu Jitsu implements training methods and techniques from disciplines such as competitive sports, yoga, plyometrics, calisthenics, military training, and strength training.

The goal of our training is always to become the best martial artists that we can be, without disregarding the principles of bushido.
